Our team is trained in both traditional and high-end appliance systems, providing technical expertise across a wide range of issues. We handle sealed system rebuilds on refrigerators, igniter replacements on gas ranges, and motor and pump service on dishwashers with clogged drainage. For example, if your LG washer displays a UE or OE error code, we can recalibrate the sensor and inspect the drain pump for blockages. If your Samsung refrigerator is not cooling evenly, our technicians will check the evaporator fan motor and defrost thermostat, using brand-specific diagnostic tools to pinpoint the issue.

Common Questions and Answer

Range QUESTION: Why is one burner on my electric range not heating? ANSWER: This is common in Amana, Maytag, and Frigidaire ranges and usually results from a failed surface element, a bad infinite switch, or a broken receptacle block beneath the coil.

Microwave QUESTION: Why is the microwave turntable not spinning? ANSWER: In GE, Sharp, and Panasonic models, the issue is often a failed turntable motor, broken drive coupler, or damaged control board relay. The microwave may still heat, but unevenly.

Freezer QUESTION: Why is the ice in my freezer clumping together? ANSWER: This happens in Samsung, LG, and Frigidaire freezers when the ice maker’s flap doesn’t close completely or the defrost cycle introduces excess moisture. It may also point to poor door sealing.

Ice Maker QUESTION: Why is my ice maker leaking water into the freezer? ANSWER: In KitchenAid, GE, and Samsung units, this can be caused by a misaligned fill tube, a cracked ice tray, or a fill valve that is stuck partially open. Water may overflow during the fill cycle and freeze around the components.

Garbage Disposal QUESTION: Why does my garbage disposal smell bad even after rinsing? ANSWER: Food particles can get stuck under the splash guard or in the grind chamber of InSinkErator, Moen, or Waste King models. Cleaning with baking soda and vinegar or using a disposal brush can eliminate hidden residue and odors.

RECENT DUNEDIN APPLIANCE REPAIRS
PINELLAS COUNTY SERVICE AREA

1. Refrigerator Not Cooling Properly Common in brands like Samsung, GE, and Whirlpool, this issue is often caused by a failed evaporator fan motor, defective thermostat, or low refrigerant due to a sealed system leak. In many cases, ice buildup on the evaporator coils can block airflow, especially if the defrost system fails.

2. Washer Won’t Drain Seen frequently in LG, Maytag, and Frigidaire models, this is usually caused by a clogged drain pump filter, worn drain pump, or a kinked drain hose. Front-load washers often show an OE or ND error code when this occurs.

3. Dryer Not Heating This is a typical issue in Whirlpool, GE, and Samsung dryers. It is often caused by a blown thermal fuse, faulty heating element, or a malfunctioning high-limit thermostat which interrupts power to the heating circuit.

4. Dishwasher Not Draining In brands like Bosch, KitchenAid, and Frigidaire, the issue often stems from a clogged drain hose, blocked air gap, or a failed drain pump motor. The control board may also prevent draining if it detects a sensor error.

5. Oven Not Reaching Set Temperature Common with GE, LG, and Samsung ovens, this problem can be traced to a failing bake element, malfunctioning temperature sensor (RTD), or a calibration issue in the control board. Users may notice uneven cooking or extended preheat times.

6. Range Burner Not Igniting On Frigidaire, Whirlpool, and Café gas ranges, this is usually due to a faulty spark module, dirty or misaligned igniter electrode, or a bad surface switch. Moisture from cleaning or spills can temporarily block ignition as well.

7. Microwave Turntable Not Rotating Seen in Panasonic, Sharp, and GE microwaves, this issue is often caused by a worn turntable motor, broken drive coupler, or a malfunctioning control relay that fails to energize the motor circuit.

8. Garbage Disposal Hums But Doesn’t Grind Common in InSinkErator, Moen, and Waste King units, this issue typically indicates a jammed flywheel, worn impellers, or a seized motor bearing. Resetting the thermal overload and manually rotating the flywheel can sometimes resolve it.

9. Freezer Frosting Up Excessively Frequent in Frigidaire, Samsung, and Whirlpool freezers, this can result from a damaged door gasket, faulty defrost heater, or a defective defrost timer or control board. Frost on the evaporator coils restricts airflow and raises internal temperatures.

10. Ice Maker Not Making Ice Seen in LG, GE, and KitchenAid refrigerators, this issue is often caused by a frozen fill tube, faulty water inlet valve, or a failed ice maker module. Some models also experience problems with the internal thermistor or ejector motor.
